Ilarose the Flying Woman!

Room 7 read an awesome story about Dan the Flying Man. We decided to create our own flying people. First we had to choose a landscape and try to draw it the same as it was on the book. Once Miss Donnell enlarged it, we drew over our lines with vivid to make them stand out. We coloured it in using pastels, making sure our colours matched the story. Miss Donnell took pictures of us "flying" outside and glued them onto our picture!

Auckland Museum Trip

On Wednesday Room 7 went to the Museum. I was in

Isabella’s group. I was with Delta and Riley. We saw a

boat game. We made a ‘ei. Mine was beautiful. It had green, red, blue, pink and light blue.

2019 Art Exhibition

In Term 2 Room 7 have been studying native birds. We learnt lots about the kiwi bird and decided to make our own kiwi bird silhouettes.

First we practiced drawing kiwi birds in lots of different ways. Then Miss Donnell traced over our birds onto black paper.

We made the bunting by using cotton balls and dye. It was fun making the bunting because we got to use warm and cool colours.

Check out the awesome art!

Writing in Room 7

Ilarose you have made so much progress in your writing this year. You have started writing stories that are 2 or 3 pages long. You have a great imagination and are able to sound out most words by yourself.
This is a copy of your draft writing book, a book you write in independently twice a week. You wrote a fantastic story about going on a bear hunt.

Your thoughts on your writing: I like writing stories about what I did in the weekend. I am good at writing very very long stories.

My favourite book

We have had such a great time visiting the Library and reading lots of different books this term. We love visiting Mrs Deadmarsh. We thought we would share our favourite stories that we like to read and why they are our favourites.

Uptown Funk!

For our whole school assembly, Room 7 decided to do a dance. Leo's mum Claire came in and taught us some great dance moves. We practiced every single day with Miss Donnell. This is our dress rehearsal in the auditorium. We feel super funky!

Ila Rose you did an amazing job at our assembly. Even though you started in Room 7 after we had already learnt most of the dance, you picked up all the moves quickly and showed lots of resilience. Ka pai!
